β‘ Accelerated Program for Dancers: These timelines are designed for people with existing dance backgrounds and movement practices (yoga, tai chi, martial arts, etc.). Progression speed varies based on your background:
- Movement experience (yoga, tai chi, etc.): Progress faster through each level
- Dance experience (salsa, bachata, ballet): May move through levels more quickly
- Completely new to dance: May spend 6-8 weeks on Level 1, or longer β that's perfectly normal and encouraged
- Advanced dancers: Can accelerate or skip levels with instructor guidance

Which Level Should You Start At?
π Completely New to Dance
Start: Level 1 (Foundation)
You'll learn the basics without feeling overwhelmed. Most people spend 4 weeks here before moving to Level 2.
π Some Salsa, Bachata, or Ballroom
Start: Level 2 (Expression)
You understand partner dancing fundamentals. You can skip basics and jump into tango's emotional aspects.
π― 1-2 Years Tango Experience
Start: Level 3 (Connection)
You know the basic vocabulary. Focus on deepening partnership and presence β this is where tango gets interesting.
β 3+ Years Tango Experience
Start: Level 4 (Musicality) or assess with instructor
You have solid technique. Work on musicality, interpretation, and personal style. Some dancers may start Level 5 directly.
