About TaoTango
The philosophy behind our transformative dance journey
Our Story
TaoTango was born from a vision to transform the traditional approach to Argentine tango by infusing it with eastern philosophy and mindfulness practices because Tango offers a platform for a higher transfmission of energy and knowledge.. Our founders, experienced tango dancers who had also studied yoga, tai chi, tantra, music theory and zen meditation, recognized the powerful parallels between these practices.
They discovered that by bringing together the passionate connection of tango with the mindful awareness of eastern traditions, dancers could experience a profound transformation that extended beyond the dance floor and into their daily lives.
In 2023, we held our first workshop in Arambol, Goa, combining tango with yoga and meditation. The response was overwhelming, with participants reporting deeper connections, improved technique, and personal breakthroughs.
Since then, we've expanded to multiple yoga villages throughout India, creating a serene community of dancers who seek not just to learn steps, but to embark on a journey of self-discovery and transformation through movement.

Our Philosophy
Mindful Presence
We practice being fully present in each moment of the dance, cultivating awareness of breath, body, and partner. This mindfulness extends beyond the dance floor into our daily interactions.
Balance of Energies
We explore the balance of masculine and feminine energies in the dance, recognizing that each dancer contains both. This tantric approach creates a harmonious exchange of energy between partners.
Emotional Freedom
Through dance, we access and release stored emotions, creating space for healing and growth. Tango becomes a moving meditation that allows us to express and transform our inner landscape.
Fluid Movement
Inspired by tai chi, we emphasize fluid, continuous movement that follows the natural flow of energy. This creates a dance that feels effortless and deeply connected to the earth.
Community Connection
We foster a supportive community where dancers can explore, grow, and share their journey. Our approach emphasizes collaboration rather than competition.
Continuous Growth
We view tango as a lifelong path of growth and self-discovery. Each class, each dance, is an opportunity to learn more about ourselves and deepen our practice.
Our Unique Approach
What sets TaoTango apart is our holistic integration of multiple practices:
Argentine Tango
The foundation of our practice, providing the structure, technique, and passionate connection that makes tango the "king of partner dances."
Yoga Integration
We incorporate yoga postures and principles to improve balance, flexibility, and body awareness, while also building the mind-body connection essential for tango.
Tai Chi Flow
The principles of tai chi inform our approach to movement, helping dancers understand weight transfer, groundedness, and the continuous flow of energy.
Zen Meditation
We practice mindfulness techniques that enhance presence on the dance floor and create space for deeper connection with ourselves and our partners.
